Honda Car Keys cut and programmed at any Keyless Shop at Sears location.
Honda car keys have really transformed over the years. Here is the breakdown on Honda Keys from the mid 80s till today.
Honda car keys from 1985 - 1997
Hondas car keys have transformed over the years. The early Honda car keys were simple metal bladed keys without a transponder chip. These types of Honda car keys can be cut with a duplicator machine. Hondas ranging from 1985 - 1995 typically used bladed keys such as hd103. See photos below.
Honda car keys from 1998 - 2003
In 1998 Honda added a transponder aka chip to the top of the key that communicates with the immobilizer on the ignition. The chip is located underneath the plastic in the head of the key. Its easy to assume that your car key doesn't have a chip when in reality it does. If you duplicated this chip key at your local hardware store with a simple plastic top metal key then it may turn in your door but will not start the engine. These chip keys require key programming tools and must be programmed to the vehicle in order for it to start. The Keyless Shop only uses the best programming tools designed by engineers from MIT. Honda laser chip keys
In 2002 Honda developed its first laser cut high security key with transponder. These laser cut keys are more secure because the common key duplicator cannot cut them. These high security laser keys require expensive laser precision key machines that can trace and laser cut keys. Typically only specialized automotive locksmiths carry these laser key machines. Many new car dealerships do not carry these laser machines either and must order the key cut from the manufacture making the customer wait several days to receive their key. The Keyless Shop at Sears is proud to use only the best and one of the most expensive key machines on the market designed by Keyless USA the leader in key machine technology. The Keyless Shop can cut and program Honda laser chip keys for $65. Give us a call today at 800- 985-9531 or email us at sales@KeylessShop.com.
Honda Remote Keys from 2004 - 2012
In 2004 Honda transformed the chip key into a remote head key. The Honda remote key comes with usually three or four buttons on it which operate the keyless entry functions. The Honda keyless entry operates with an unlock, lock and trunk button. In the US market Honda remote keys also have panic buttons so that you can find your car in large parking lots which can come in very handy. The Keyless Shop sells Honda remote keys for $125 or we can transform your remote key into a flip key for $150. We recommend the flip keys because the remote keys by Honda tend to break where the plastic meets the metal. If you have ever owned a Honda then you know exactly what I am talking about. Honda Remote Keys from 2013 - 2018
In 2013 Honda redesigned there remote key and made it more durable. This was because the previous style remote keys by Honda would break easily and common complain by Honda Owners for the past 8 years. The new style Honda remote key has a more modern look with its keyless entry buttons aligned vertically on the head of the key. The Keyless Shop sells these remote keys for around $150 programmed to your vehicle. Give us a call today at 800- 985-9531 or email us at ventas@KeylessShop.com.
Honda Smart Keys from 2013 - 2018
Honda also created a push to start aka Smart Keys for their fully loaded line of vehicles. Smart keys are the future, and most cars are leaning toward smart key technology. Smart key technology or push to start keys are different in that these vehicles don;t have ingnitions, they only have a push button start on the dash. The smart remote simply has to be in the proximity of the vehicle (typically inside the vehicle) in order for the car to start. So no need to take that smart key of your pocket. Just sit right in and push the button on the dash, your car starts right up and you are ready to drive. The Keyless Shop sells Honda Smart Keys starting at $225 which includes programming.
